African Power is a community initiative that aims to connect, empower, and support the African diaspora in Europe, while building lasting bridges with the African continent. Through our flagship programs—African Power Data Hub, African Power Connect, African Power Awards, and African Power Talks—we are building an ecosystem of opportunities, mentorship, and collective impact..

Our 4 pillars:

• African Power Data Hub: A platform for census data and insights on the diaspora, designed to identify career, investment, and project opportunities in Africa and Europe.

• African Power Connect: A dynamic network of chapters that connects professionals, mentors, entrepreneurs, and project leaders in the diaspora and across Africa.

• African Power Awards: An annual competition that recognizes and supports the best entrepreneurial and impact projects led by the African diaspora.

• African Power Talks: A series of inspiring conferences, panels, and interviews highlighting the success stories, expertise, and exceptional journeys of the African diaspora.

Volunteer Position | Remote

Role Description: Graphic Designer & Content Creator

As a Graphic Designer & Content Creator, you will breathe life into African Power’s visual identity through impactful and consistent designs. You will produce high-quality assets for social media, global events, corporate presentations, and various communication channels.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Social Media Design: Create engaging visuals, including posts, stories, and carousels.

• Event Collateral: Design materials for upcoming events (posters, flyers, digital banners, roll-ups).

• Template Development: Build reusable templates for presentations, impact reports, and newsletters.

• Multimedia Production: Produce short-form videos and animations (Reels, Shorts, motion design).

• Talks Branding: Design specific assets for African Power Talks (thumbnails, speaker posters, pull-quotes).

• Brand Consistency: Ensure strict adherence to the brand’s visual identity across all platforms.

• Creative Collaboration: Work with the Communication Team to translate core messages into compelling visuals.

Note: This is a volunteer position. It offers an excellent opportunity to build a social-impact portfolio while shaping the visual identity of a rapidly growing initiative.

Candidate Profile

Core Competencies:

• Graphic Design: Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or equivalent design tools.

• Content Creation: Ability to produce attractive visuals tailored to various digital platforms.

• Design Principles: Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition.

• Efficiency: Ability to deliver high-quality assets within designated timelines.

Additional Assets:

• Skills in video editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut).

• Experience in motion design or basic animation.

• A portfolio demonstrating prior work for social media or event branding.

• A keen eye for the visual aesthetics and cultural nuances of the African diaspora.

• High level of creativity and innovation.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Team spirit and openness to constructive feedback.

• Passion for using design as a tool for social impact.
